About the Project
The State Data Centre (SDC) has been identified as one of the important element of the core infrastructure for supporting e-Governance initiatives of National e-Governance Plan (NeGP)of GOI.
Andaman & Nicobar State Data Centre (ANSDC) is envisaged to provide consolidated services, applications and infrastructure to provide efficient electronic delivery of G2G, G2C and G2B services. All the line departments of the Andaman & Nicobar administration are leveraging the services of SDC infrastructure space to house ICT assets within the UT in an environment that meets the need for reliability, availability, scalability, security and interoperability.
The Union Territory (UT) of Andaman & Nicobar has already developed most of their e-Governance applications and some of the applications are in the pipeline for development.
The scheme envisages that the project is to be implemented through a State Implementation Agency (SIA) appointed by States/ UTs.SOVTECH (Society for Promotion of Vocational and Technical Education) has been designated as the State Implementing Agency.
Andaman & Nicobar Administration has already implemented the State Data Center in reference to the guidelines of MeitY, GoI for State Data Centre, the Andaman & Nicobar Administration had implemented the State Data Center on 15th March 2013. M/s TCS Ltd. was selected as Data Centre Operator for 5 years ie., till March 2018. Presently State Data Centre is being managed by SOVTECH.
State Data Center has been providedinternet lease line from BSNL with a bandiwidth of 400 Mbps to enable web hosting of the applications.
The facility is equipped with round the clock power supply and sustains full operations for a maximum of 72 hours in case of complete power disruption.
